It has been an amazing, amazing last 3 days at the CES!

It is impossible to capture everything at the CES (too huge!), so decided to report by categorisation of the ones that impressed me the most. Give me a few days to roll out the reports

The first one up is cars

TOYOTA’S FUTURE CAR

Toyota is really pushing the boundaries on the cars we are going to see in the future. First up is the Future Mobility Concept (FMC) – the idea is that the car responds to our movement. We no longer need a wheel. We just tilt our body left and right, and the car responds accordingly. Step and breaking on the pedal is still the same. Not sure how it will reverse!

TOYOTA’S iROAD

Next up is the iRoad. Unlike the FMC above, the iRoad is actually already in production. And available in 2014 for early adopters to try in US and Europe. The cool thing about this vehicle is that it has an amazing system that would help you angle the wheels correctly while making sure the car’s body remains level. This is really useful for turning and when you navigate uneven road surfaces.

CARS – INTERNET

We are now coming to “The Internet of Things” for cars. Guess what is the common theme across these 3 cars below?

You got it – All are connected to the cloud. And that means you are able to access/sync a wide range of services/apps to help you navigate, play music, do other cool stuff with your car that you cannot do today. This is a big theme at CES 2014 – the Internet of Things. And cars will be a big beneficiary of this. You can monitor things at home while driving, change home temperature while driving etc etc – the possibilities are endless, too many things to say here. CAR BASS SYSTEMS

I am not sure how new this is, but as a lover of sound systems, I just find this so cool. Once again, you should really see the videos I have taken, to hear how amazing the sound system has become with these gadgets. Working on it!
