Since I was young, the US has always been THE country to visit for me. The passion, the innovation, the creativity, the start-ups – it is just so inspirational. So here I am, on another journey to the US where I hope to inspire and be inspired

First off is a stop at my favourite airport in the world – Changi Airport. I practically grew up at this airport. From the early days of family excursions to the airport when it was first launched in 1981, to the countless travels and discoveries I have made with Changi Airport as my launching pad, it will always hold a special place in my heart.

Once again here I am!

And here is a photo of my 2 favourite Singapore icons captured together – Changi Airport and Singapore Airlines. I remember watching Singapore Airlines (SQ) taking off every time from the viewing gallery at Changi Airport when my family brought me there when I was young, and making me feel real proud of SQ. The fact that its brand has stayed strong in such a cut-throat, highly competitive industry is truly amazing.

Landed in Seoul 6-7 hours later. While I naturally have strong feelings for Changi Airport, I do recognise as well that many airports in the world are catching up as they modernise. Seoul’s airport is impressive – I like the fact that they provide nursing rooms for mothers – very considerate!

Nice selection of stores as well. US companies are great exporters of their brands, but Korean brands are catching up too. Here we see “Paris Baguette”. I could have been fooled into thinking its a French founder. but it is well and truly a Korean brand. They have it at their airport – they have it in Singapore as well.

And then the dreaded long night over the Pacific from Seoul. Somehow I just do not sleep well in planes on overnight flights despite my best efforts to do so. No worries – just keep running on adrenalin after landing!
