After several weeks on the road in the US, am finally back in Singapore!
It was a great, insightful trip. Humbled to have met so many inspiring people, and even better to have learnt from them. I also had a great time conducting SG Buzz. It was fantastic to meet so many of my fellow overseas Singaporeans pursuing their passion on the US West Coast – I am going to bet that they are going to do amazing things in their lives. That is for sure

One fun part of my job is really making people laugh and bringing a smile to their face. Entertaining the crowd and brightening up their day is something I would love to do in every presentation I give. So photos like these are highly treasured by me
Very encouraged by the feedback as well from the 4 talks:
- Extremely interesting speaker and very well organized
- Great initiative to engage students in North California! Also wonderfully entertaining speaker who is extremely willing to share
- Great talk!
- Thank you! Dennis was awesome
- The speaker Dennis was very inspiring. It was nice to hear of humble beginnings and remind us that everyone can be successful despite the toughness
- Very entertaining and insightful talk. Enjoyed it thoroughly
- Good speaker, great food and good environment for networking
- Great presentation
- Thank you for inviting Mr Goh. Wonderful, authentic and like the nuggets of wisdom. We really enjoyed the sharing and the update of the scene and developments on startup in Singapore
A really hilarious surprise happened after the end of my Seattle talk. While mingling around with everyone, the fire alarm at Grand Hyatt Seattle suddenly went off while everyone was eating. We were all happy to ignore it until the intercom buzzed and screamed “Evacuate, Evacuate, Everyone out!”.
You gotta be kidding right?! It was like 4-7 degrees outside and raining (you know….Seattle).
And the hotel staff proceeded to chase us all out – this has never ever happened to me in all my years of giving talks. Everyone just had a look of disbelief as we were chased out.
But hey, nothing beats photographic evidence! And being surrounded by the beautiful Seattle Christmas lights meant we somehow still managed to smile!
All in all, a fantastic, memorable trip giving these SG Buzz talks. A big shout out and thank you to OSU (Overseas Singaporean Unit) for organising the trip. In particular, Marcus Hee from OSU – it all started with your email earlier this year. And tons of appreciation to my local host, Stanley Leong. You have been a wonderful, wonderful host and guide – thanks so much for taking care of everything!

Counsel-General – thanks to you and OSU for the “thank you” gift. It was an absolute pleasure meeting you too and hearing all your war stories
Finally, to all of you whom I have met or sent me emails, please stay in touch. Do not stop believing, and never give up (even if you fail – learn, wait, build up resources, and try again). You will be amazed at what patience and focus can get you. You will be the next success
Feel free to contact me if you have an entrepreneurial idea (firstname.lastname@example.org). I will see if either me or my network can help you. Even if I cannot help, I will try to find someone who can
There will be a billion dollar business coming out of Singapore soon – mark my words
